Reflection: Applying the Essential Question to the Political Cartoon

My cartoons show how the election can affect one person, and how the election can affect society. Half of my pictures are about how it will be a historic event of Obama is elected president. While I don’t disagree that it would be historic, I think that it is more important to see what he does than what he looks like. The other half of my cartoons shows the ignorance of some voters. I think that during elections some voters focus more on the candidates than what there actually going to do, at the same time I believe that the rest of the voters look at the candidates and the issues respectively. All of the cartoons depict how it will be historic for a black man to be president, and that voters only care about the candidates. I believe that a good voter should focus on the issues more than the candidate’s appearance.
